Urban Forestry Grants Webinar Announced: Updated Application Process

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hosting a webinar to help you develop a competitive urban forestry grant application. This webinar will guide you through the application form so you can submit a strong application that aligns with the DNR’s Urban Forestry Program funding priorities.

Register today to reserve your spot in the upcoming webinar. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

The DNR recently updated the 2026 Urban Forestry Grant Application (Form #8700-298). Since the last application revision occurred in 2015, an update was overdue. The primary goal of the update was to improve your experience as a grant applicant while also streamlining the DNR administrative review process. (Note: If the application form will not open on your device, right-click on the link and choose “Save As” to save it to your device, then open it from there.)

The updates also more clearly articulate the 2026 DNR Urban Forestry Program funding priorities:

  • Increase tree canopy cover
  • Improve urban forest health
  • Build community capacity
