The Urban Wood Toolkit available to communities

Are you looking to find the highest and best use for removed urban and community trees? The Urban Wood Toolkit is here to assist in developing a marketing and utilization strategy for communities to reduce costs and to connect communities with local forest products manufacturers to grow economic opportunities.

This toolkit was rolled out in 2018 through the Urban Wood Network and supported through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Sustainable Resources Alliance, and the USDA Forest Service Northeastern Area. This toolkit walks users through the process of building an urban wood use plan, including gaining community support, finding markets, processing urban wood, and developing partnerships.
