The application period is now open for hundreds of internships with the state of Wisconsin, including two positions with the DNR’s Urban Forestry program!
The urban forest interns will focus on data collection and analysis projects to expand our knowledge of the sustainable management of community forests. Daily work will mostly consist of different tree inventory projects, with opportunities to learn about the wider forestry and urban forestry fields in Wisconsin.
These summer internships take place between mid-May and mid-August and will be based in the Milwaukee DNR office. No housing is provided, though there may be student housing you can rent for the summer. The positions are paid $16.24 an hour.
Eligible applicants must be:
- legally authorized to work in the United States.
- at least 18 years of age at the time the internship program begins (May 19, 2025).
- currently enrolled in, recently graduated from (2024/2025) or planning to attend a 2-year, 4-year or graduate school (2025).
- living in Wisconsin during the internship program period (mid-May 2025 through mid-August 2025).
The application deadline is Feb. 7, 2025.
