Forest Health Staffers Plan Public Appearances

Linda Williams, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Forest Health specialist for Northeast Wisconsin, will speak at multiple “Learn About Your Land” teaching events scheduled in September.

The program includes University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension Forestry educators, DNR Forestry staff and other natural resources professionals.

The classes are designed to give information and support to those who want to take care of their woods, hike and hunt on their land and make memories with their families, providing knowledge and resources to help people get the most from their woodland.

Williams is scheduled to appear at the following events:

  • Marinette County: A registration fee of $30 will cover all three classes. Classes on Sept 17 and 24 will meet at the Crivitz Village Hall, 800 Henriette Ave, Crivitz, though online attendance will be offered. The field day on Sept. 26 will meet at Governor Thompson State Park, Woods Lake Shelter, N10008 Paust Ln, Crivitz. The schedule: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 (forest health) and Thursday, Sept. 24 (wildlife), and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 (forest management).
  • Oneida County: A $30 registration fee covers the three classes for this series. Classes to be held at Kemp Natural Resources Station, 9161 Kemp Rd., Woodruff, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 (wildlife), Thursday, Sept. 17 (timber harvesting) and Thursday, Sept. 24 (forest health).
