Hundreds of people from the arboriculture industry descended upon the Lussier Family Heritage Center in Madison this August for the Wisconsin Arborist Association’s (WAA) annual summer conference. Two tracks proceeded concurrently, enabling attendees to select the sessions which best fit their interest and professional applicability. Split between indoor and outdoor classrooms, the sessions underscored the variability of the arboriculture field. Inside the building, attendees learned about tree selection, pest and pathogen threats, and pruning, while outside attendees were instructed on proper aerial rescue techniques, soil assessment and tool maintenance. Vendors were also present to display the latest equipment in the industry. The whole day was a fun and useful experience for veteran arborists as well as those learning the ropes.

The WAA Fall Conference will be held on October 9 in Brookfield.
