Madison College starts an arboriculture program

This fall, Madison College enters the arboriculture education arena, joining Gateway and Mid-State technical colleges in offering a 2-year associates degree in arboriculture.

In a degree track titled Arboriculture/Urban Forestry Technician, Madison College is hoping to supply a pathway for eager students to enter full-time arboriculture careers.

Local employers are excited for the program as it offers an option for folks looking to get into arboriculture in this region of the state. A few have already demonstrated support by indicating willingness to work around students’ schedules.

Courses this fall will run full days on Monday and Friday along with Wednesday evening courses. The program is designed to be flexible and offers full- or part-time options to accommodate students who work while attending school.
